בשנת תלתין ושית למלכות אסא סליק בעשא מלכא דישראל על דבית יהודה ובנא ית רמתא מן בגלל דלא למשבק נפיק ועליל לאסא מליך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk lasa welyl npyq lmshbq dla bgll mn rmtha yth wbna yhwdh dbyth el dyshral mlka besha slyq asa lmlkwth wshyth thlthyn bshnth
In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

ואפיק אסא סימא ודהבא מן תסברי בית מקדשא דיי ומבית מלכא ושדר לבר הדד מלכא דארם דיתיב בדרמשק למימר:
lmymr bdrmshq dythyb darm mlka hdd lbr wshdr mlka wmbyth dyy mqdsha byth thsbry mn wdhba syma asa wapyq
Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of Yahweh’s house and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

קימא בין מימרי ובין מימרך בין אבא ובין אבוך הא שדרית לותך סימא ודהבא אזל אשני קימך דעם בעשא מלכא דישראל ויסתלק מעלוי:
melwy wysthlq dyshral mlka besha dem qymk ashny azl wdhba syma lwthk shdryth ha abwk wbyn aba byn mymrk wbyn mymry byn qyma
“Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”

וקביל בר הדד מן מלכא אסא ושדר ית רבני חילותא די ליה לקרוי ישראל ומחו ית עיון וית דן וית אבל ממערבא וית כל בית אוצרין די בקרוי נפתלי:

Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.

והוה כד שמע בעשא ופסק מלמבני ית רמתא ובטיל ית עבידתיה:
ebydthyh yth wbTyl rmtha yth mlmbny wpsq besha shme kd whwh
When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and let his work cease.

ואסא מלכא דבר ית כל אנש יהודה ונטלו ית אבני רמתא וית קסיהא די בנא בעשא ובנא בהון ית גבעתא וית סכותא:
skwtha wyth gbetha yth bhwn wbna besha bna dy qsyha wyth rmtha abny yth wnTlw yhwdh ansh kl yth dbr mlka wasa
Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.

ובעדנא ההיא אתא חנני נביא לות אסא מליך שבטא דבית יהודה ואמר ליה כד אסתמכתא על מלכא דארם ולא אסתמכתא על מימרא דיי אלהים מטול היכנא אשתיזיב חיל מלכא דארם מן ידך:
ydk mn darm mlka khyl ashthyzyb hykna mTwl alhym dyy mymra el asthmktha wla darm mlka el asthmktha kd lyh wamr yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk asa lwth nbya khnny atha hhya wbedna
At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.

הלא כושאי ולובאי הוו לחיל סגיא לארתכין ולפרשין לחדא ובאסתמכותך על מימרא דיי מסרנון בידך:
bydk msrnwn dyy mymra el wbasthmkwthk lkhda wlprshyn larthkyn sgya lkhyl hww wlwbay kwshay hla
Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and exceedingly many horsemen? Yet, because you relied on Yahweh, he delivered them into your hand.

ארום יי עינוהי מסתכלין בכל ארעא לאתקפא עם צדיקיא דלבהון שלים לותיה אטפשתא על דא ארום מבכן אית עמך סדרי קרביא:
qrbya sdry emk ayth mbkn arwm da el aTpshtha lwthyh shlym dlbhwn tsdyqya em lathqpa area bkl msthklyn eynwhy yy arwm
For Yahweh’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”

ורגז אסא על נביא ומניה בבית אסריא ארום אתנסיס עמיה על דא ושעביד אסא מן עמא בעדנא ההיא:
hhya bedna ema mn asa wshebyd da el emyh athnsys arwm asrya bbyth wmnyh nbya el asa wrgz
Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

והא פתגמי אסא קדמאי ובתראי הא אנון כתיבין על ספר מלכיא דבית יהודה ודבית ישראל:
yshral wdbyth yhwdh dbyth mlkya spr el kthybyn anwn ha wbthray qdmay asa pthgmy wha
Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

ומרע אסא בשנת תלתין ותשע למלכותיה ואתחגר ברגלוי עד לעילא אתגבר מרעיה ואוף כד מרע לא תבע אולפן מן קדם יי אלהן באסותא:
baswtha alhn yy qdm mn awlpn thbe la mre kd wawp mreyh athgbr leyla ed brglwy wathkhgr lmlkwthyh wthshe thlthyn bshnth asa wmre
In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great; yet in his disease he didn’t seek Yahweh, but just the physicians.

ושכיב אסא עם אבהתוי ומית בשנת חדא וארבעין כד מלך:
mlk kd warbeyn khda bshnth wmyth abhthwy em asa wshkyb
Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.

וקברו יתיה בבית קבורתיה דתקין ליה בקרתא דדוד ואשכבוהי במשכבא די מלי בוסמין וזיני וריחנין מבסמין בוסמנין עובד אסיא ואוקידו ליה יקידת קיסי בוסמיא עד לחדא:
lkhda ed bwsmya qysy yqydth lyh wawqydw asya ewbd bwsmnyn mbsmyn wrykhnyn wzyny bwsmyn mly dy bmshkba washkbwhy ddwd bqrtha lyh dthqyn qbwrthyh bbyth ythyh wqbrw
They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.
